PMS Association…

I belong to the Provincial Civil Service of Punjab. Our service association has been quite active in the recent past and held a general body meeting at PC Hotel on 10th July which was attended by over 1000 civil servants from all over Punjab. The key aspect of this meeting was participation of Secretariat service colleagues. Merger of the two associations was formally approved. The event was marked by fiery speeches from our colleagues against the injustice served to the Provincial services in shape of poor service structure, slow promotions, class attitude bordering on racial discrimination and dominance of District Management Group (DMG) which is a Federal Service but occupies key posts in Punjab. It also has control over transfer/postings and promotions in Punjab. A well attended meeting ended with a peaceful protest march on the Mall Road. One week deadline has been given to the Chief Minister, Punjab to resolve issues of Provincial services. Otherwise, we will be compelled to call for strike.
